Bridge Ward


Bridge Ward is part of the Ilford North Constituency (Lee Scott MP, Conservative) and is one of 21 wards in Redbridge. Bridge currently has two Conservative Councillors. Cllr John Fairley- Churchill, Cllr Robin Turbefield and Paul Canal are seeking election on Thursday May 6th.

 A local resident and parent who runs his own recruitment business, Paul has been active in the community for over 30 years. A past Chair of Governors, Training Company Director and Charity Trustee,  Paul will focus on working to reduce local crime, combating anti social behaviour and ensuring Bridge Ward retains it's unique character. John, a Councillor for 16 years, has served on most major Committees and has been Chairman of the Education Committee and Chairman of the Children's Services Scrutiny Committee.

John is the Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services and Health and Deputy Leader of Redbridge Council.

He serves on London Councils Grants Committee and the Adult Social Services and Health Forum.

 A Councillor since 2006, Robin was born, educated and lives in Redbridge. Owner of a local business and Cabinet member for Housing, Robin has fought hard for local road improvements and action to prevent flooding. Robin was instrumental in the development of the James Leal Centre and improvements to Ray Park. Robin will work hard to preserve Bridge's open spaces.
